- Specials The Balasun tea garden, located near the small village of Sonada, was founded in 1871 as ‘Nahore Balasun’. It was named after the Balason River, one of Darjeeling's most important rivers, which also flows through the estate. The tea fields extend over gently rolling hills and give the tea in the second flush a wonderful full-bodied flavour.
