- Specials Fengqing’s teas form part of China’s cultural heritage and derive most of their aroma from a special withering technique. The polyphenol content of Mao Feng is around 30% higher than that of comparable smaller varieties. Fengqing is renowned as the cradle of ancient tea trees and is home to the world’s oldest tea tree: the approximately 3,200-year-old ‘Jinxiu Tea God’. The alpine ecosystem, characterised by extreme weather fluctuations, high UV exposure and distinctive red soil, ensures a slow, amino acid-rich growth.
