- Specials Putharjhora has been producing organic teas since 1997, making it the only organic garden in the entire Dooars region. Here, the flat Ganges plains meet the foothills of the Himalayas. The estate is surrounded on both sides by the rivers Rinchington and Chel. The rocky riverbeds also give the estate its name – 'Puthar' means rock and 'Jhora' means river. The CP-1 cultivar is specially adapted to the conditions typical of Dooars. To achieve its special aroma, the leaves are loosened by hand and lightly cracked during the withering process.
